Defamation and Slander

As is well-known’ lawsuits for slander have become a routine matter in the State of Israel, and the courts are inclined, not without good reason, to dismiss such legal actions while determining that the utterance thus made does not amount to defamation, or because the matters are too trivial.

Our Firm has acquired much experience in managing disputes in the area of defamation prohibition in Israel, whether on the part of the claimants (who assert that a defamation or slander was published about them) or on the part of the defendants (as well as accusers and defendants, when we deal with private complaints by virtue of section 6B of the Defamation Prohibition Law), for which reason we have at our disposal a significant amount of knowledge about everything concerning those lawsuits, which enables optimally turning the legal proceeding to our advantage.

Various Examples:

  • Representation of owners and editors-in-chief of famous foreign language magazines in Israel, in a dispute on the matter of defamation.
  • Representation of defendants in private complaints.
